House system at Kāsiga

top cbse school in Dehradun Uttarakhand

Pacific, Everest, Amazon, and Nile are the four houses that the students are allotted in at Kāsiga. There is a separate boarding area for each house, and all the houses are under experienced house masters and assisted by a house mother. The House system is a tradition that schools have been following for many decades now, and it has time and again proven to be an integral part of both day schools and boarding schools. But why should there be a house system?

Encourages participation

The house system promotes various academic, sports, art, and other cultural activities. Being a part of a smaller community like a house gives students a wonderful platform where they can showcase their talents and prove themselves. This also encourages participation in the activities that students enjoy.

Healthy competition

It is very necessary to strike the perfect balance among the students when it comes to being competitive. Students should understand the value of competition but shouldn’t be so competitive as to disregard others. When houses compete in sports, or other activities, students enthusiastically give their best shot in order to increase the points for their respective houses.

Sense of belonging

When students indulge in different activities and celebrate points and victories together, they get a sense of belonging. This is imperative as the children are away from their homes and want to be somewhere they belong and are appreciated.

Solid friendships

Every house at Kāsiga has a boarding area, it is an open space where students can enjoy themselves. The houses also have a separate common room where the students can watch TV and/or play board games together. When students spend a good amount of time with each other, they can form strong friendships, and deep bonds. This gives the students the sense of being at a home away from home.

Sense of loyalty

The house system at Kāsiga encourages a sense of loyalty and friendliness among all the students. When students take part in competitions, they have the best interests of their respective houses in mind. Students don’t just earn points for themselves, but for everyone who’s a part of their house. The students feel united and learn how to be considerate of each other.

Sense of leadership and cooperation

Since seniors and juniors coexist in these houses, there’s a lot they can learn from each other. The seniors can mentor and guide the younger students, and the juniors can give a fresher perspective on various topics. This increases cooperation among the students, helps them develop leadership qualities and teaches them how to work in a team.

Supportive environment

The house system provides a very caring and supportive environment for every student. Students feel more comfortable and secure around the other students in their respective houses.Peer support is crucial, especially in boarding schools. Under the house system, each student is a valued member of a smaller family (the houses) which is a part of the larger family (the entire school).

The house system exists to take care of our students with a more holistic approach.Every student is a valuable member of the Kāsiga family and is given equal importance and care.
