Every day at Kāsiga is filled with learning and new experiences. This helps the students excel and evolve every day while looking forward to the days ahead. Our past few months were quite memorable, filled with episodes of pride and memories. Here are some glimpses of events that we’re proud of:
Cambridge Zonal Community Meet – August started off with Cambridge Zonal Community Meet 2019 which was attended by principals of 75 Cambridge International Schools. Only 3 out of the 75 participants presented papers on ‘Global Perspectives’, out of which one principal was from Kāsiga.
History Workshop – Kāsiga School had the honour of hosting Mr. Lokesh Ohri, Founder-President BTDT (Been There Doon That) who gave an insightful session on the history of Dehradun.
Inter-House Performing Arts Competition– Kāsiga also organised an Inter-House Performing Arts competition where Kāsigans showcased their talents with powerful performances.
Etiquette and Table Manners Workshop – A workshop on Etiquette and Table Manners was conducted for the students by Ms. Manikjeet Siddanah to educate students on dining manners. They were also told about its importance and how appropriate dining behavior helps in creating a good impression.
Paper Bag And Cloth Bag Making Activity – It was conducted by the Green School Committee in collaboration with NGO MAD (Making A Difference). This activity inspired students to contribute to Mother Nature by using paper bags and saying no to plastic bags.
Nukkad Natak – The audience was awestruck by the act “Be a part of the solution, not the pollution.” performed by The Green School Committee of the school.
WES Award – EletsTechnomedia Pvt Ltd & Digital Learning Magazine, Asia & Middle East’s Premier Media & Technology Research Organisation, held the 14th edition of World Education Summit 2019 (WES) in Delhi. Kāsiga was awarded the title Green School Campus by World Education Summit 2019.
Future 50 Awards – Our Principal Mrs. Sonali Sinha was awarded ‘Future 50 Leader Shaping Success 2019’ for successfully building a Comprehensive School Ecosystem and making students future-ready.
Confluence – Tula’s International School organised a cultural fest ‘CONFLUENCE’ in which 22 schools from Dehradun, Mussoorie, and Rishikesh took part. Kāsiga won the first prize in Solo Instrumental, Battle of the Bands, and Catch me if you can.
Silver Fiesta – The fourth edition of Silver Fiesta was held at Kāsigawhere Dr. Sonali Patnaik, a film scholar, talked about cinema appreciation and shared valuable information on the technical aspects and critical analysis of cinema.
Hindi Samrat – Hope Town School organised an Inter-School ‘Kavya Paath Sampradha’, where 11 schools of Dehradun participated and Kāsiga school won the overall trophy with their astonishing overall performance.
Geeta Paath – We held our 11th Inter-School Geeta Paath, where 10 other schools participated and chanted excerpts from the Geeta in front of Mr. Premchand Shastri, Vice President of Uttarakhand Sanskrit Academy. Kāsiga won the first prize with Manav Bharti India International and Olympus High School getting the first and second runners up respectively.
Fun With Chemistry – A guest lecture on chemistry was conducted by Professor Dr. Brijesh Pare who was also an organizer of the Australian National Chemistry Quiz. The lecture was based on the interesting facts about chemistry. Mr. Pare demonstrated and discussed the application of chemistry in our daily life.
Inter-School/College Shooting Competition – Kāsiga participated in Uttarakhand State Inter-School / College Shooting Championship and won a total of 10 medals including 2 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze.
Other Sports’ Laurels – Kāsiga won a gold medal in 50 meters Freestyle, Silver medal in 50 mts Butterfly and Bronze medal in 200 mts. We also won a gold medal in 25 meters backstroke and silver in 25 mts breaststroke at 9th P.A KIDD Inter-School Competition.
Our school swimming star, Preeya Patel, won 3 medals and the Overall Trophy in Sub-Junior Category at MRS E.C WEST Memorial Swimming Championship.
Kāsigans participated in the 18th Uttarakhand Open State Level Shooting Championship and won a total of 20 medals.
Kāsiga recently participated in the SELA QUI International Soccer Tournament and bagged the Runners-up position with a cash prize of ₹50,000. Our student, Shreesh Bakshi, got a golden opportunity to participate in the 73rd Genmark Senior National Aquatic Championship organised by Madhya Pradesh Swimming Association (MPSA) under the auspices of Swimming Federation of India.
Maths Quiz – Quizzes have been an integral part of our curriculum to help increase the skill, proficiency, and aptitude of the students. Kāsigaorganised a maths quiz where students were quizzed with riddles and problems. Mr. Surendra Singh Bisht and Mr. Kamal Dewan were the tabulators and Mr. Sachin Sharma was the timekeeper for the event. The competition ran neck to neck among all the teams but in the end, the battle was won by Nile House in a tiebreaker. The 2nd and 3rd positions were bagged by Amazon and Everest House respectively.
Talk with the University of Mexico – Mr. Tarak Nath Dey and two of our students engaged with students from Tech Milenio University of México on the Indian culture and its values. It was a thoroughly engaging session and we look forward to more of these sessions.
Business Quiz – Doon Business School, Dehradun recently conducted a Business Quiz where Kāsigans showed prolific participation. Students got to know about the recent happenings in the business world and it was indeed an enriching experience.
Uttarakhand State Ranking Tennis Tournament 2019 – Two of our students Yashraj Gupta and Brahamaansh Gandhi were the runners up of the under-18 doubles event. They played with flair and determination and went till the super tiebreaker.
Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019.
2019–20 witnessed the 18th season of Vijay Hazare Trophy. Kāsiga cricket ground witnessed the first match of the season, on 4th Oct, between the teams from Chandigarh and Assam. This made for a fantastic feast for cricket lovers and players alike, who displayed great team spirit.
Education Today Award
Our principal, Mrs. Sonali Sinha, was conferred ‘50 Effective Principals 2019’ award by the Education Today magazine. She was awarded for showing exemplary traits of sincerity, dedication and hard work in the field of education. Mrs. Sonali Sinha is indeed an inspiration for all the Kāsigans.
This was a wrap up of some wonderful events that went by. Life at Kāsiga is always filled with excitement and celebration which helps students evolve as global citizens. We look forward to more exciting months.
