Kāsiga, since its inception, has been designed with an aim to promote an all-encompassing, inclusive, caring, and stimulating environment for students from India and around the world. It is not only a home for students from different parts of India, but many students from Thailand, Nepal, Bhutan, South Korea, Bangladesh, U.A.E, Canada, United States of America, and Uganda find the environment at Kāsiga extremely warm. They enjoy living and learning here. Diversity at our campus is treated with the utmost respect. In order to make sure that our students from around the world feel welcome and face no difficulties while adjusting to the diverse atmosphere at the school, we take some special steps to provide an adequate environment where everyone feels comfortable and at home.
Here are some initiatives we take to help the international community:
- Helping with admissions: We conduct many admissions fairs where our representatives travel to various destinations. Once the students clear the entrance exam, they get all the help with pick-ups from the airport and residential help for parents. We also conduct interviews through Skype for international students.
- Bonding and assimilation: Trained counsellors and special educators take care of the emotional and special needs of students. Additionally, trained staff help them acquire essential skills in English through specially designed ‘Bridge programmes’ to bring them to the level of proficiency required to cope with academic work.
- Celebrating the diversity: In order to make sure that students of all backgrounds feel at home, we give equal importance to all the festivals and celebrate their traditions with equal vigour and excitement. This helps in building a multi-cultural community where everyone not only respects these differences but also celebrates them together.
- Something for everyone: At Kāsiga, we acknowledge the cultural differences amongst our students and ensure that all the needs of our students are met. We carefully cater to the international palate by providing international cuisine along with Indian cuisine. Additionally, some overseas students are included in the Food Committee to give suggestions regarding food choices.
- Endless opportunities to grow: Educational Fairs are frequently hosted at Kāsiga. Collaboration with overseas universities from the U.K, Canada, Australia, USA, allow direct interaction between students and the representatives, opening a wide array of career choices. Apart from this, specialized counsellors are invited to assist students with college applications. The school uploads applications on UCAS; predicted grades, as well as, letters of recommendation (LOR).
In addition to all this, ‘Buddies’ from their own country, as well as, Indian students play a proactive role along with the staff during the period of acclimatization and adjustment. No student ever feels discriminated as the environment at Kāsiga is all welcoming and warm. Students from different backgrounds live, learn, and play together as one big family at Kāsiga!
